Troubleshooting the Tape Library
Problem: A tape drive detected and reported that the mounted tape cartridge experienced a mechanical
cartridge failure. The tape may be snapped, split, or cut, and the tape cartridge's mechanical failure may
prevent the tape cartridge from being properly unloaded and ejected.
CAUTION: Do not attempt to unload or move the tape cartridge, but follow the instructions below.

Note the drive location from the ticket details.

Temporarily discontinue use of the tape drive and loaded tape cartridge.

Collect a tape drive log via the
Tools > Drive Operations
menu selection, and select
Retrieve tape
drive log
for the previously noted tape drive.

Contact Service for assistance in obtaining an e-mail address to which to send the tape drive log, as
well as to get assistance regarding a possible tape drive firmware update and tape cartridge removal
from the tape drive.

a. Select
Close
to close the ticket now.
b. Select
Exit
to leave the ticket open for future troubleshooting.
c. Select
Back
to return to the Diagnostic Resolution.
RR013 - Remove and Replace Display Assembly
This RR provides resolution steps for
T067
on page 265.
Problem: A problem has been detected and isolated to the local library display assembly hardware. The
nature of the problem indicates that a replacement may be required. Your library should be operational from
the remote user interface.

If both this ticket and ticket
T064 - LCB Hardware Failure
are generated within a few minutes of each
other, the problem lies with one of the power supplies in the control module. In this case, contact Service
for a replacement of a control module power supply.

Otherwise, check the ticket details to determine whether the issue is temperature related:
a. If a temperature limit has been exceeded, check the user documentation for temperature
specifications, and adjust the room temperature accordingly.
b. If the issue is not related to external temperature conditions, contact Service for a replacement
of the display. When the new display is available, follow the replacement instructions delivered
in the enclosed package.
