DR093 - Resolve Robotics Communication Error
This DR provides customer resolution steps for:
•
T127
on page 326
•
T139
on page 338
Problem: The library firmware did establish communication with the robotics subsystem, but encountered a
communication failure during operation. This problem may be caused by one or more of the following
conditions:
•
Power loss to the robot assembly.
•
Cable spool or connection failure.
•
Electrical hardware failure.
1
Check if other tickets exist that may identify a power or robot initialization error, and resolve such tickets
before continuing to the next step.
2
Check if the picker assembly is powered, by opening and looking through an I/E station closest to the
robot position to determine whether the green picker assembly LED is lit or blinking.
3
If the LED is OFF, continue as follows:
a. Check that the module terminators are fully connected and secured, and that all main access
doors are fully closed.
b. If terminators are secured and main doors are closed, open and close each main access door
one by one, and observe if the robot initializes after the doors are closed.
c. If the robot initializes, close the previously opened I/E station and observe whether the robot
scans the I/E elements.
d. If the I/E station scan succeeds, the issue is resolved; close this ticket and continue operation.
4
If the previous step did not resolve the issue, or the LED is ON, close this ticket, power off the library,
and continue as follows:
a. Remove and inspect both module terminators and connectors for pin damage, then reattach
and secure.
b. If the library consists of multiple library modules, remove and inspect all module-to-module
cables and connectors for pin damage, then reattach and secure.
c. Open the library's main doors; inspect the cable spool for visible damage, and ensure that it is
properly connected and secured at the robot assembly's J1 hook connector.
d. Close all main doors, power up the library, and observe library initialization.
5
If no issue was found, and this ticket reoccurs, contact Service for assistance.
