Troubleshooting the Tape Library
a. Ensure that the library is properly connected to the network, and that the network cable is not
damaged.
b. Ensure that the library's IP address settings are correct, and that the key server IP and port
configuration are configured appropriately.
c. Verify that the key server is powered on, operational, and properly connected to the network.
d. Ensure that the key server's IP and port configuration are set properly and responding.
e. If no problems are found with any of these items, there is a configuration problem with your
network. Contact your network administrator for assistance with troubleshooting this issue.

If the issue cannot be resolved, contact Service for further assistance.

a. Select
Close
to close the ticket now.
b. Select
Exit
to leave the ticket open for future troubleshooting.
c. Select
Back
to return to the Diagnostic Resolution.
DR081 - Resolve AutoClean Failure
This DR provides customer resolution steps for

on page 294.
Problem: The library's automatic drive cleaning process encountered an error and did not clean a drive.

View the ticket details to determine the drive and/or cleaning tape location and failure reason.

If the failure reason indicates that the configured cleaning tapes are expired or invalid, consult the user
documentation to export and import cleaning media via the
Operations > Cleaning Media
menu
selection to configure valid cleaning tapes for continuous, uninterrupted automatic cleaning operations.

If the failure reason does not indicate expired or invalid cleaning tapes:
a. Check and resolve other unopened tickets.
b. View the
Reports > Library Configuration
report to locate all configured cleaning slots and
validate proper cleaning tape presence.
c. Make sure cleaning media was not manually placed, but has been properly imported via the
Operations > Cleaning Media
menu.
d. Open the main library door(s), if needed, and inspect the configured cleaning slots to verify that
all tape cartridges occupying the cleaning slots are valid cleaning tapes.

Select the
Tools > Drive Operations
menu selection to perform a manual drive cleaning operation of
the drive requesting cleaning.
