Electric submersible pumps for sewage
- starting, operation and eventual maintenance or off-service must be carried out by skilled personnel well
experienced with the rules concerning safety of working environment and who has taken vision and
carefully verified the content of this manual and/or any other documentation enclosed to the product
In case the electric pump is used to convey dirty and/or dangerous liquids during installation or maintenance
and off-service, all individual protective devices are necessary to operate in safety conditions.
The appliance is not intendend for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance by a person responsable for their safety. Children should be supervised to
ensure that they do not play with the appliance. (EN 60335-1 : 02)
The acoustic level of the electric pump, when duly immerged and correctly installed, does not reach 70 dB (A).
Before any intervention of checking or maintenance of the installation of electric equipment, it’s indispensable to
disconnect electric power supply being sure that same cannot be reconnected inadvertently.
Never tamper installed protections and safety devices; when necessary, ask for intervention of competent
personnel.
Be sure to operate in safety conditions with well dimensioned equipment and instrumentations complying with
local safety regulations and standards.
3. TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND USE
3.1 CHARACTERISTICS OF PUMPED LIQUID (SEWAGE)
Electric submersible pumps equipped with vortex impellers are suitable to pump liquids containing solids or long
fibres, gas or ferments, while with single channel open impeller are suitable for pumping sewage with short
fibre solids or containing slurry or muds.
- PH: between 6 ÷ 11

- Velocity not less than 1 m/s and same viscosity as water (in case of higher values contact Dab Pumps
technical dept.)
- Temperatur:
max 40°C (104°F)
- Max content of solids in suspension: 8%. Solids in suspension must not be neither too abrasive or
agglomerating.
3.1.1 CHARACTERISTICS OF PUMPED LIQUID (DRAINAGE)
- Velocity not less than 1m/s and same viscosity as water (in case of higher values contact Dab

- Max. temperature : 35°C (95°F)
- Max. content of solids in suspension : 0,5% DRENAG 500/3000, 1% FEKA 750/1200, FEKA GL 500/650
- Max. Ø of solids in suspension : 5mm DRENAG 500/3000, 46mm FEKA 750/1200, 30mm FEKA GL 500/650
- Solids in suspension must not be neither too abrasive nor agglomerating.
