Feedback from the exhalation pressure transducer helps the ventilator maintain the PEEP/
CPAP at the selected value. Even with a ventilator breathing circuit leak of up to 10 L/min,
PEEP/CPAP can be maintained. The ventilator compensates by adjusting the piston/cylinder
output.
