Lighting
Lighting on the Citation Bravo
includes interior, exterior, and emer-
gency lighting. Interior lighting
includes systems for the cockpit,
cabin, baggage compartments, tail-
cone compartment, and nose bag-
gage compartment. Exterior lighting
includes the beacon, navigation,
taxi, wing inspection, landing/recog-
nition, and optional tail flood lights.
An emergency lighting system pro-
vides interior lighting if a complete
electrical failure occurs or if the air-
craft experiences a SG longitudinal
acceleration (i.e., crash). All lights
except for the overhead and instru-
ment floodlights are controlled by a
PANEL LIGHT CONTROL master
switch
(Figure 5C-20)
and then
adjusted by rheostats.
Interior Lighting
Interior lighting includes:

Cockpit
n
Cabin
n
Cargo and service compartment.
Cockpit Lighting
Primary and secondary lighting sys-
tems illuminate the cockpit instru-
ments and panels. Instruments and
switches not illuminated by white
background lighting or by an elec-
troluminescent panel may be lighted
by a post light. Secondary lighting
includes the cockpit floodlights, an
alternate engine instrument flood-
light, and two map lights.
The majority of the cockpit lighting
controls are on the lower edge of the
pilot's instrument panel. These con-
trols allow the adjustment of the
lights from off to full intensity. The
map light controls are on the forward
edge of the side consoles.
When the instrument panel lights are
on, a dimmer is activated in the
annunciator panel to provide for
lower warning light intensity during
night flying. The ENGINE START
DISENGAGE switch is also illumi-
nated when the panel lights are on. A
flood light in the glare shield comes
on to illuminate the fan tachometers
when a starter switch is pressed. It
extinguishes as the start sequence
completes and the starter/generator
revers to generator operation.
The lights operate on DC and AC
power from the aircraft's normal
electrical system. In the event of a
dual generator failure, the overhead
floodlights operate off the Emer-
gency bus. The standby gyro battery
provides power to the standby gyro
indicator, dual fan tachometer,
standby altimeter and standby air-
speed indicator in the case of a total
electrical failure.
