Shortly before takeoff, position the TEMPERATURE CONTROL
selector switch to AUTOMATIC and in mid-range.
Deice Systems . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . CHECK (when icing
conditions are anticipated)
Clear the area behind the airplane and set power at or above 60%

. Position the SURFACE DEICE switch to SURFACE DEICE.
The wing inflation may be checked from the cockpit. Ensure that the
boot surface De-Ice lights illuminate during the stabilizer phase of
the check.
The SURFACE DEICE annunciator will illuminate, and remain
illuminated during the two six-second automatic cycles. When the cycles
are complete it will extinguish.

be checked individually to ensure
that both T/R controls can individ-
ually command the Hydraulic Sys-
tem Bypass Valve to close for
proper Thrust Reverser System
Operation.
CAUTION:
If during taxi, a hard
brake pedal-no braking condition is
encountered, operate the emer-
gency brake system. Maintenance
is required for flight.
CAUTION:
Do not operate deice
boots when the ambient air temper-
ature is below -40°C (-40°F).
CAUTION:
Limit ground opera-
tion of pitot/static heat to two min-
utes or damage to the AOA probe
and pitot tube probes may occur.
