The moving vertical tape moves
behind the window and displays digital
airspeed at 20-knot intervals, with the
larger numbers at the top of the scale.
The airspeed tape (9) is a moving
scale display with a fixed pointer
and calibrated airspeed marks. The
white
scale markings on the tape are
in 10 knot increments. The scale dig-
its move with larger numbers com-
ing from the top of the display. The
numbers turn red if V

exceeded.
The range of the airspeed scale is 40
to 450 knots with tick marks at 10
knot intervals. For airspeeds below
40 knots, the digits are not dis-
played.
Airspeed Comparison Monitor
Annunciator
A difference of five knots between
the two sides indicated airspeeds
activates the airspeed comparison
monitor (11) and annunciates an
amber IAS in the upper left inside
edge of the airspeed tape. The
annunciation flashes for 10 seconds,
then goes steady.

are displayed in the bottom
portion of the airspeed tape in the
form of a digital readout. The digital
readout of the set value appears
along with the bug symbol and are
labeled in ascending order, starting
with V
1
. Upon power up, the digital
readouts for the set bugs are amber
dashes. As the V
SPEEDS
are set on
the MFD menu, the digital readouts
follow the readout on the MFD and
are set accordingly. The appearance
of the first V
SPEED
value on the air-
speed tape removes the digital read-
outs from the display.
For airspeeds greater than 450 knots,
the displayed value remains at 450.
Altitude Display
The altitude display on the right of the
PFD presents altitude indications by a
vertical tape display with a rolling
digit window in the center of the tape.
A digital altitude readout contained
in the display window is a magnifi-
cation of the digits on the scale (2)
and is readable to within a 20 ft reso-
lution. The hundreds, thousands, and
ten thousands digits are larger
numerals than the others.
The digits within the pointer are
green; the scale markings on the tape
are white The vertical tape is a mov-
ing scale behind a fixed window
(pointer) and displays a tape 550 ft
both above and below the present
indicated altitude, with the larger
numbers at the top of the scale.Sin-
gle line chevrons are at each 500 ft
increment; double line chevrons are
at each 1,000-ft increment. The
chevrons extend back to the approxi-
mate midpoint of the altitude tape
and are connected with each other by
a vertical line. The left side of the
rolling digit window has the same
angle as the chevrons. The chevrons,
altimeter reference line, and altitude
select bug align when the selected
and current altitudes are on an incre-
ment of 500 or 1,000 ft.
Below 10,000 ft, boxed hash marks
(3) show that the ten thousand foot
digit is missing. For altitudes below
sea level, a minus sign replaces the
boxed hash marks.
Invalid altitude data removes the
digits, tick marks, and chevrons, and
places a red X over the tape.
