Scan a Group Barcode --- BlackBerry Messenger now allows you to 

use your camera and scan a unique barcode that is part of the display 
profile of all BlackBerry Messenger users. Scanning the barcode 

essentially invites them to your Messenger group. 

 

Switch Application --- Press this to multitask or jump to another 
application while leaving the messenger application running. 

 

Close --- Exit the Messenger application. 

Customizing Your BlackBerry Messenger  

Below, we show you the entire Options screen to give you a feel for those items you can 

customize in your BlackBerry Messenger.  We do not describe every option in detail as 

some are self-explanatory. 

To see your BBM options, press the Menu key and select Options to see the screens 

shown in Figure 19-3. 

 

The default for Press Enter key to Send is checked.  If you want to 
turn this off, uncheck the box.  If this is unchecked, you will have to 

click the trackpad and select Send to send your BBM message. 

 

The default is a checkmark in the Show Chats in Messages 
Application box.  This will show your BBM messages in your 

Messages (email Inbox). 

 

You can also choose to have the BlackBerry vibrate when someone 
pings y ou ( the d efault i s Y es ----- a checkmark in the box).
