Setting the Date, Time, and Time Zone
Sometimes you’ll need to adjust the date, time, and time zone. While you can set the
time and time zone in the Setup Wizard, you can also adjust it directly using the
Options icon. To do so, follow these steps.
1.
Click your Options icon or press the letter O from your Home screen to
start Options. (See ‘‘Home Screen Hotkeys’’ in Part 4.)
2.
Press the letter D to jump down to Date/Time, or scroll down and click
on it.
3.
Click the trackpad to see all the time
zones, and glide up or down to select
the one that’s appropriate.
4.
Scroll down to set the Auto Update
Time Zone. You can choose the
default Prompt (which asks you if you
want to change the time zone
whenever it detects you’re in a new
one), Off (which never adjusts), or On
(which adjusts the time zone without
asking you). We recommend leaving it
set to Prompt.
5.
Roll down to Use Network Time and
select Yes or No. The default is Yes,
which uses the Network Time shown
at the bottom of the screen. We
recommend leaving this set to Yes
unless you want to manually override
the time. To manually set the time,
select No.
