Advanced AutoText Features-----Macros
Macros are shortcuts for other functions, such as displaying the current time and date,
your PIN number or owner information, or even pressing the backspace or delete keys,
and AutoText is the key to using them.
Creating a New Entry with Macros
Let’s create a new entry called ‘‘ts’’ (‘‘Time Stamp’’) that will instantly show the current
time and date.
1.
Start creating a new entry as you
did above and use the letters ts
for time stamp.
2.
Press the Menu key and select
Insert Macro.
TIP: All macros start with the percent sign
(%) and you can simply type them instead
of selecting them from the menu.
3.
Scroll up or down and select
the macro you want.
In this case, we want a Short Date
(%d), which is mm/dd/yy format.
