Sometimes you need a symbol that’s not shown on the keyboard. For these, you can
press the Sym key to see a list of other symbols available to you. Press the Sym key to
the right of the space key.
This key brings up the symbol menu shown in Figure 6-2.

Select the symbol by pressing the associated letter or gliding and clicking the trackpad.
In the image above, if you press the letter C on your keyboard, you’d get the symbol for
the Japanese Yen currency.
Quickly Typing Accented Letters and Other Symbols
You can easily type standard accented characters such as Á by pressing and holding a
letter on the keyboard and gliding the trackpad. (See page 3 of the Quick Start Guide.)
Try this: Press and hold the letter A to scroll through these accented characters related
to A: À Á Â Ã Ä Å Æ (both upper and lower case).

Letters this trick works on are: E, R, T, Y, U, I, O, P, A, S, D, K, C, V, B,
N, M.

Letters that give you some other common characters: V key for ¿, T
key for trademark symbol, C key for copyright symbol, R key for
registered trademark symbol.
