TIP: If you frequently have to dial a number that has several pieces (like when you call for your
work or home voice mail messages), you can add an entry into your contact list (address book)
with pauses or waits (see page 274) and assign this new entry to a speed dial (see page 216).
Changing Your Phone Ringtone
To select any of your songs or preloaded ringtones on your BlackBerry as a new
phone ringtone, please check out the steps in our Advanced Phone section on
page 221.
Making a Call-----Just Dialing a Phone Number
Press the Green Phone key at any time to get into
the Phone application.
Just start dialing numbers.
First, the BlackBerry will try to match the letters you
are typing to Address Book entries. If it can’t find
any, it will just show you the digits you have typed.
You will notice a small image of the Green Phone key immediately after the cursor.
Once all the numbers are punched in, just press the Green Phone key and the call will
be placed.
Answering a Call
Answering a call couldn’t be easier. When a call comes in, the number will be displayed
on the screen. If you have that particular number already in your Address Book, the
name and/or picture will also be on the screen (if you’ve entered that information.)
