Chapter 12
Polylines, Polygons, & Curves
To draw a cloud
1
On the Draw menu, click Polygon, Cloud, or click the Cloud button on
the All-In-One toolbar.
2
Set the segment width and bulge factor in the text boxes on the edit bar.
The value of the bulge is equal to two times the measured height of the
bulge, divided by the distance between its startpoint and endpoint. A
bulge value of 0 is equivalent to no bulge and a bulge value of 1 is equiv-
alent to a semicircle.
3
Click the startpoint of the cloud. A rubber-band line follows the pointer.
4
Click two or more points to define the segments of the cloud. Each one
ends the previous segment and begins a new one. If you make a mistake,
press DELETE to remove vertices one at a time in reverse order.
5
Right-click to complete the cloud.
To draw a cloud with equal segments
A bulge value of 0 is equivalent to no bulge and a bulge value of 1 is equiv-
alent to a semicircle.
3
Click the startpoint of the cloud. A rubber-band line follows the pointer.
4
Press and hold SHIFT and click the second point to establish the segment
distance.
5
Release SHIFT and drag the mouse over the drawing where you want the
cloud. Do not click the mouse while dragging. As you drag the mouse, the
cloud is created with equal segments based on the segment distance
specified.
6
When you move the pointer to within the established segment distance
of the startpoint, AutoSketch closes the cloud.
