5. Cleaning and Maintenance

Probes should always be cleaned after every use.
Ensure the connector cap is securely fitted to protect the socket
, then rinse the unit
thoroughly in fresh water.
5.1. Cleaning the Pressure Sensor
Remove the black end cap to reveal the pressure sensor hole. Rinse thoroughly and
ensure all the holes in the cap are clear. Check that the pressure sensor hole in the end of
the Probe is also clear.
If the pressure sensor hole appears to be blocked, carefully clear it with a soft tool such as
a wooden or plastic toothpick.
Do not insert any sharp metal tools into the pressure
sensor inlet.
5.2. Cleaning the EC Cell (-CTD version only)
On a regular basis, thoroughly clean the inside of the nose sleeve and the four metal EC
contacts situated in the EC cell with a soft cloth or toothbrush and non-abrasive detergent.
Never use solvent or alcohol based products to clean the EC cell
. After cleaning, replace
the nose sleeve and re-calibrate the EC.
