stack virtual-chassis-id
Overview
This command specifies the stack virtual chassis ID. The ID selected will determine
which virtual MAC address the stack will use. The MAC address assigned to a stack
must be unique within its network.
NOTE
:
The command will not take effect until the switch has been rebooted.
Syntax
stack virtual-chassis-id <
id
>
Mode
Global Configuration
Usage
The virtual-chassis-id entered will form the last 12 bits of a pre-selected MAC prefix
component; that is,
0000.cd37.0xxx
. If you enable the stack virtual MAC
address feature (by using the stack virtual-mac command) without using the stack
virtual- chassis-id command to select the virtual-chassis-id, then the stack will
select a virtual- chassis-id from a number within the assigned range.
Example
To set the stack virtual-chassis-id to 63 use the commands
awplus#
configure terminal
awplus(config)#
stack virtual-chassis-id 63
This will result in a virtual MAC address of:
0000.cd37.003f
.
