6.23 Air filter for the diesel engine
Check the air filter daily (or more often if necessary).
Air filter elements: replace the safety element [5] and the primary element [4]
every 1000 operating hours. Replace the safety element and the primary ele-
ment at least 1x per year. The filter elements cannot be cleaned. Remove the
safety element only when you want to replace it.

On your machine, the clogging indicator [2] is possibly not present. The clog-
ging indicator will be send to you by your dealer.
Checking the air filter:
1. Turn the engine off and take the ignition key
with you.
2.
Squeeze the dust valve [1]:
•
To check if the valve is clogged. Clean the
valve if necessary.
•
To check the condition of the rubber. Re-
place the valve if necessary.
3.
Look at the clogging indicator [2].
If the clogging indicator becomes red:
•
Remove the filter cover [3].
•
Replace the primary element [4].
•
Replace the safety element [5], every third
time that you replace the primary element.
Clean the inside of the filter housing before
you remove the safety element.
•
Install the filter cover [3].
•
Press the clogging indicator [2] to reset it.
4. Clean the air inlet [6] if necessary:
•
Do not remove filter elements.
•
Remove the dust valve [1].
•
Remove the dust with a blow gun [7].
5. Dispose of used filter elements in accord-
ance with the national legislation.
