6 MAINTENANCE
6.1 Introduction
This chapter describes the maintenance of the machine. Contact your dealer for maintenance that
is not described in this manual.
6.2 Testing the sprayer
To protect the environment, crop sprayers must be periodically certified by an accredited test cen-
tre. Do not use the sprayer if the period of validity of the test report has expired. Consult the na-
tional legislation about mandatory certifications.
The certification is a snapshot and gives no guarantee that you will not have to do any mainte-
nance until the next certification date. Interim checks and maintenance of the sprayer stay im-
portant.
6.3 Safe maintenance
General:
WARNING
•
Use genuine Agrifac parts.
•
Do not use the sprayer until worn or damaged parts have been replaced.
•
Rinse the sprayer with clean water before you do any maintenance.
•
Clean the sprayer with a pressure washer before you do any maintenance. Do not direct
the water jet at bearings or electrical components.
•
Park the sprayer on a firm, even surface.
•
Apply the parking brake.
•
Use wheel chocks.
•
Prevent carbon monoxide poisoning. Do not run the engine in a closed space.
•
Before you do any maintenance: read and understand the manual.
Turn the engine off. Remove the ignition key. Take the ignition key with
you.
•
Illuminate the work area if necessary.
•
Use a close-fitting overall, safety shoes and safety goggles.
•
Use suitable lifting equipment tested for safety.
•
Do not go below the sprayer until it has been properly supported.
•
Use suitable and well-fitting tools.
•
Tighten bolts and nuts to the correct tightening torques (

