8 ENVIRONMENT
8.1 Introduction
During the use and maintenance of the sprayer, the environment must be protected as much as
possible.
8.2 Measures for protecting the environment
•
To protect the environment, in most countries plant protection products may only be applied
by persons with a valid certificate of competence (a spraying certificate). A certificate of
competence shows that you can safely and responsibly work with plant protection products.
Consult the national legislation about the certificate of competence.
•
To protect the environment, crop sprayers must be periodically certified by an accredited
test centre. Do not use the sprayer if the period of validity of the test report has expired.
Consult the national legislation about mandatory certifications.
The certification is a snapshot and gives no guarantee that you will not have to do any
maintenance until the next certification date. Interim checks and maintenance of the sprayer
stay important.
•
Operate and maintain the sprayer in accordance with the instructions in this manual.
•
Store and use spray products in accordance with the national legislation.
•
Use spray products as efficiently as possible.
•
Dispose of empty spray product packagings in accordance with the national legislation.
•
Dispose of remaining spray products in accordance with the national legislation.
•
Build a biobed to prevent the pollution of groundwater and surface water.
•
Cab air filter: dispose of used filter elements in accordance with the national legislation.
•
Dispose of oil filters and waste oil in accordance with the national legislation.
•
Dispose of defective parts in accordance with the national legislation.
