Setting up SNMP traps
JD700B series provides Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) traps which enable an agent to
notify the management station of significant events by way of an unsolicited SNMP message. The following
trap formats are provided: SNMPv1 (Simple Network Management Protocol), SNMPv2c, and the VIAVI
standard Management Information Base (MIB).
Using SNMP traps
The current SNMP only supports alarms occurred in EMF mode. The SNMP trap alarm message is sent
when it reaches the user-defined MSL and ICNIRP limit.
Procedure

Press the
SYSTEM
hot key.

Select
More (1/2) > Utility > SNMP Trap
.

Once the screen appears, enter the SNMP information using the on-screen keyboard.

Select the trap format among the 3 options:
Disable
,
SNMPv1
, or
SNMPv2c
.

Tap the
Apply
button to apply the settings.

Tap the
Test
button to start testing.

Tap the
Cancel
button to cancle the SNMP setting process.
NOTE
You can use the
LIMIT
hot key to analyze your measurements with the display line, multi-
segment line, and ICNIPR limit. See “Setting limit” on page 770 for more information.
