Agent Server
The Agent Server section tests the Portal Agent Interface, which may coreside
on the database computer or reside on a separate server. The test pings the
computer, and connects to it to determine the status of the Agent Interface server
(Java console), Web server (IIS settings), and Address Book.
If the Agent Interface cannot connect to the database, a red error is flagged. A
amber error is flagged when there is something wrong with the Address Book. A
amber error is also flagged when more than one application is trying to use the
same line.
Note: It is possible for the connection to the Web server to be successful even
though, for example, the Java Console is stopped. If the RMI Registry or Java
Console processes are not present, the status is set to red.
Network
The Network section reports on the status of all the computers in the network.
For example, it pings the server in Symposium Call Center Server, and pings the
LDAP server if enabled. The statistics are generated from the pings of the
various servers during each sanity or full system check.
Avg Reply Time
This value is the average Round Trip Time (RTT) for the pings carried out
during each test cycle. If the average time is outside the limit chosen in the
settings window (30, 100, or 300 ms), an error is logged and the status changes
to amber. If the average extends beyond the maximum of 300 ms, the status
changes to red. A new average is calculated with each test cycle. The status light
does not detect if the network failed. It detects the status of the usable network.
Clear
Click Clear to reset the network statistics and return this section to green status.
