Do not use Windows Add/Remove Programs since you cannot 

predict at which stage the installation was interrupted. All of the necessary 
uninstall files may not have been installed properly to allow a successful 
uninstall through Windows Add/Remove Programs.

Uninstall Sybase.

Perform a fresh install of Sybase. See “Installing Sybase Adaptive Server 
Enterprise and Sybase Client” on page 41.

Perform a fresh install of the Symposium Web Center Portal database. See 
“Installing the Portal Server component” on page 85.
