Customizing the Customer Interface Standard 2.0
Example
A customer’s data is modelled in JSP code by an instance of the customer Java
business object. This object presents a public interface, which includes methods
for getting and setting its attributes or fields such as the user’s first and last
names, address, or custom fields defined by the user (for example, credit card
details). It also includes methods to create, read, update, or delete customer
records in the Symposium Web Center Portal database.
The business objects referenced by the JSP code in the Customer Interface are
Customer, Transaction, Skillset, User (Symposium Web Center Portal agent),
and Customer_Session (which models a customer’s interactive session with the
application). The public interfaces are documented using Sun’s Javadoc tool,
which produces a fully indexed and hyperlinked set of HTML files that can be
examined with any web browser. For more information, refer to the Symposium
Web Center Portal Javadoc on the Nortel Networks Symposium Web Center
Portal CD-ROM.
InsertTrans.jsp,
InsertTransAndCust.jsp These are two HTML pages generated
if the callback media type is Text
Chat. The first page indicates that no
agent is available at this time. The
second page confirms that the
transaction was submitted and an
agent will be available shortly.
If the callback type is other than Text
Chat, an HTML page confirming the
user’s submission is generated. You
can customize all of these HTML
outputs.
TransHist.jsp This page generates an HTML table to
display the user’s previous transaction
history. You can customize this
output.
