Installing the Symposium Web Center Portal software

If the DirectX Version is not 9.0b or later, you must download the latest
version from the Microsoft web site. For more information, refer to your
Microsoft Windows documentation.

To install Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise

1

Log on to Windows using the Local Administrator user ID.

Insert the Nortel Networks Symposium Web Center Portal Sybase
Distribution CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.

Result:

The following window appears:

ATTENTION

When you configure Sybase Adaptive Server, two files are
created: master.dat and sybprocs.dat. By default, they are
created in the default Sybase folder (usually C:\Sybase). If
you want to create these files in a different location, you
may do so, but you must create the folder (for example
D:\Sybase\data) for this location before you start the
installation.
