Installing the Symposium Web Center Portal software

Portal server

Windows 2000 Server with Service Pack 4 (or the latest service pack for
Windows 2000 Server that has been validated with Symposium Web Center
Portal. You can obtain this information from the Symposium Service Packs
and Security Hotfixes Compatibility List [available on the Partner
Information Center web site]), or Windows 2000 Advanced Server with the
Service Pack 4 (or the latest service pack for Windows 2000 Server that has
been validated with Symposium Web Center Portal)

Sybase Adaptive Server 12.5, Sybase Client, and all the required EBFs

!

Internet Explorer 5.5 (or later)

Java Runtime Environment J2SE 1.4.2_03

Portal Server (includes the database)

Portal Agent Interface

Portal Administrator

External Web server (optional)

The External Web server is an optional component of your system. The Sample
Customer Interface and Web Communications are installed on the External Web
server. If you do not plan to use these components, then you do not need an
