Installing the Symposium Web Center Portal software

Under System variables, click New.

Result: 

The New System Variable window appears.

In the Variable Name box, type 

JAVA_COMPILER

NONE

Click OK.

Log off the Administrator, and then log back on as the Administrator.

To verify your version of DirectX

DirectX is installed as part of Windows 2000; however, you must have DirectX 
9.0b or later installed on your computer. If you do not have DirectX 9.0b (or 
later) installed, you must upgrade to DirectX 9.0b (or later). Follow the 
procedure below to ensure that you have the correct version of DirectX.

Log on to the External Web server with your local Administrator user ID.

From the Windows Start menu, click Run.

In the Open box, type 

dxdiag.exe

.

Click OK.

Result: 

The DirectX Diagnostic Tool window appears.

Ensure that the DirectX Version number is 9.0b or later.
