Nortel Networks Symposium Web Center Portal

Troubleshooting

Standard 2.0

Portal Desktop support tools

Support personnel can use the TAPI Browser to isolate and debug problems
associated with the telephony portion of Symposium Web Center Portal.

TAPI Browser

Use the TAPI Browser to test the connection between the TAPI server and the
agent desktop. You can also use the TAPI Browser to make and receive test calls
from the agent’s phone to test the line connection.

1.

Copy the TAPI Browser application from the TAPI Server to the local hard
drive on the agent’s computer.

2.

Run the TAPI Browser.

pcAnywhere

Symposium Web Center Portal provides pcAnywhere on the pcAnywhere 11
CD-ROM. For more information about the software, see “Installing
pcAnywhere” on page 455.

1.

Install the pcAnywhere software on both the Symposium Web Center Portal
server and the Agent Interface server.

2.

Open pcAnywhere on the agent PC to connect to the server and remotely
debug the server problems.

For more information about pcAnywhere, refer to the pcAnywhere
documentation.
