Restoring EM Configuration File
Restores the EM configuration file that has been created by backup procedure from the USB
memory connected to the USB port of the Blade Enclosure.
IMPORTANT:
If you intend to restore the EM configuration file which was backed
up with vIO Control enabled to any other Blade Enclosure, or
relocate the EM card from the Blade Enclosure that are using vIO
Control to any other Blade Enclosure, vIO information may conflict.
To avoid conflict, perform either of the following:
– First make a backup copy of EM configuration file, cancel the
vIO Control of backup source, then restore the EM configuration
file.
– Stop running the restore destination, restore the EM
configuration file, then setup the vIO Control so that settings do
not conflict with those of backup source.
After restoration, be sure to view the Boot Control screen on Web
console. If any blade servers are indicated as "Please (re)boot",
reboot the relevant servers.
Selecting [7: RESTR CONFIG] on [EM CONFIG] menu starts restoration of EM configuration file.
During restoration, the screen as shown below appears.
Restoring CONFIG
The following confirmation screen appears when the configuration file is successfully restored.
Apply?
Y/N
Press [
] or [
] button to move cursor horizontally to switch selection between "Y" and "N".
To apply the restored configuration file, put the cursor on "Y" and press the [Enter] button.
IMPORTANT:
Executing the "apply" command reboots the EM card.
If two EM cards are installed, both cards are rebooted. While rebooting,
a bridge feature and SNMP feature are stopped. Accordingly, the
connection via management LAN of CPU blades and switch module is
temporarily disconnected. In addition, system monitoring by NEC
ESMPRO Manager is temporarily disabled. If a timeout error occurs,
connect them again after the active EM has rebooted.
