For Proper Operation
Observe the following notes for successful operation of the product. Use of the product ignoring the
notes will cause malfunctions or failures of the server.
 Clean the product on a regular basis. Regular cleaning proactively prevents various
failures of the server.
Transfer to Third Party
When you transfer (or sell) the product, make sure to provide this manual along with the product to
a third party.
Disposal and Consumables
This product contains some components that are only good for a limited period of time and require
replacement. For stable operation of this product, NEC recommends you replace these components
on a regular basis. Consult with your service representative for replacement or the product lives.
Dispose of this product, CPU blade, Storage and I/O Blade, hard disk drives, Blade Enclosure,
option board, floppy disks, and CD/DVD-ROMs according to all national laws and regulations.
Also dispose of the power cord provided with the Blade Enclosure to avoid diversion to some other
devices.
IMPORTANT:

For disposal (or replacement) of the battery on the mother board of
this product, consult with your service representative.

It is the user's responsibility to completely erase or modify all the
data stored in storage device such as hard disk drive so that the data
cannot be restored.
WARNING
Do not remove the battery.
This product contains the lithium battery. (Some option devices contain lithium
battery, nickel cadmium battery, or nickel hydrogen battery.) Do not remove
the battery. Placing the lithium, nickel cadmium, or nickel hydrogen battery
close to a fire or in the water may cause an explosion.
When this product does not operate appropriately due to the dead lithium
battery, contact your service representative. Do not disassemble the server to
replace or recharge the battery by yourself.
