Expert Panel Overview
This panel includes controls used to manipulate your work environment.
It includes the following blocks of controls:
Navigation Block :
Controls navigation through channels and buses
Solo Block :
Controls the behaviour of the Solo functions
Ergonomic Spread Block :
Controls the selection of Channels into Slots
Grouping Block :
Controls Grouping Functions
Automation Mode Block :
Controls Automation modes
Strip Modifier / Automation Block :
Allows different modes of interaction
1 Modifier button - mod
Overview
The
mod
button acts like a Shift key in that it changes the function of other controls on the surface. It is
mainly used for the following purposes (while holding
mod
):

with the top encoder of an EQ changes the
Q
factor
•
Enables ergonomic spreads

to be recalled or stored
•
with
isolate
,
read
&
write
changes the global automation mode
•
Enables mix buses to be summed in the monitoring section
mod button indicator
This indicator is illuminated whenever the Smart button is pressed.
2 All button
The
all
buttons, when pressed, are the equivalent of selecting all channels/strips of your mixer. To apply a
change everywhere, it can be seen as a modifier.
Both
all
buttons operate identically.
For example:
Holding down the
unity
button and then pressing an
all
button will set all faders available in the current
project to Unity (0dB). This is not yet implemented with plugins, auxs or pans.
ALL button indicator
The
all
button indicator is illuminated whenever either
all
button is pressed.
Tips and Tricks
In the Ramses
System
>
Configuration
pages a timed value can be set which determines the length of
time that the
ALL
remains active after it has been pressed. This avoids the need for multi-fingered virtuos-
ity in order to access multi-button functions.
3 pfl/afl button
Overview
The
pfl / afl
button toggles the solo mode between Pre-Fade-Listen and After Fade Listen i.e. normal Solo.
