Monitor Panel : EQ Aux and Pan Strip
1 Bus Peak Meters 1 - 6
The Bus Peak Meters display the levels of the Bus that is currently selected using the Monitor
Mix Sources
(see page) or External Sources (see page ) buttons.
The bus elements are displayed, left to right, in the following order: Left, Centre, Right, Left Surround, Right
Surround, Sub (or LFE).
Thus, if
Mix Source A
is selected, the Meters display the signals present on Mix Bus 1 as shown in Pyra-
mix monitoring from top to bottom. If External Source button 4 has been pressed, the Meters display the
signals present on External Source 4.
Note:
since the
Mix Source
buttons are 'radio' buttons in a group with the
External
Source
buttons and exclusive, i.e. only one selection at a time is permitted, these Meters
will always be monitoring either a
External Source
or
Mix Source
signal.
Note:
Since there are 6 Peak meters, when a stereo signal is selected, only the Left and
Right Peak Meters will be active.
2 External Sources 1 to 5 and “+”
External Sources 1 - 5
switch the monitors to monitor incoming signals from External Sources . The last
button "
+
" cycles through all the available External Sources as defined and shown in the
Pyramix Monitor
.
The number of External Sources available for selection is defined by the number of External Sources Pyra-
mix has been set up to monitor - if there are only three External Sources defined in the Pyramix Monitor,
buttons
4
and
5
will do nothing.
These are mutually exclusive 'radio' buttons in a group with the
Mix Source
buttons (
A
-
E
and
+
), so either
an External Source button or a Mix Source button must always be selected.
Meter Bridge
The
Mix Source
or
External Source
selected in the Monitor section is highlighted in the Meter bridge,
please refer to Meter Bridge section for details.
Tips and tricks
External Sources
can be used for other purposes than the traditional "tape returns". Every source required
in your setup can be seen as an external source since the External Source buttons can also be used as as
a routing tool: Hold the desired
External Source
button and press
Inject
on the desired Ramses
Slot
. All
the connected
Inputs
of the
External Source
will then be controlled and routed by the Ramses
Slot
con-
trol Strip. E.g. if
External Source 1
has 4 mono inputs and you
Inject
it into
Slot
5 and all
Slots
are stereo,
than
Source 1
will be connected as follows:
Slot 5
input External Source 1 Channels 1 and 2 /
Slot 6
Exter-
nal Source 1 channels 3 and 4.
Summing
To sum Mix Sources and External Sources select the first source by pressing its button then add sources
by holding down the
Mod
button and adding more sources by pressing their buttons.
