iv. You are asked to select the calibration method to use for this particular tank.
Press the check button to select the "DEFAULT" method.

v. Repeat steps iii and iv for each tank.
vi. Once all tanks have been calibrated (identified as blue text), end the calibration
process by selecting the
X
button.
NOTE: Upon completing any change/customization to VesselView a blue pop‑up message
will appear as a reminder to save your session. Refer to
Section 1 - Saving Settings
. To
save time, it is recommended that all session changes be saved before holding
X
button
while keying ALL engines off.
vii.If you are done calibrating the tanks, press the right arrow on the arrow
trackpad to continue to the "TAB SETUP" screen.
b.
"MANUAL"
Method—The level sensor in the tank changes resistance values as
the float rises and falls with the volume level in the tank. A normal level sensor
would have a resistance reading between 33–240 Ohms. A resistance value of
approximately 33 Ohms represents a full tank. A resistance value of approximately
240 Ohms represents an empty tank. VesselView allows for sender calibration to
correct for sensors that are slightly outside this range. The senders used in
irregularly shaped tanks need to be calibrated to the tank as substance is added
in the "FILL TANK" method, however, if it was calibrated using the "FILL TANK"
method when the vessel was on the trailer or when the vessel was rocking in the
water, the tank level will be different than when the vessel is resting in calm water
so the calibration needs to be refined. Changing the actual % value calibrates the
tank level indicator to the tank level sensor. To compensate for known errors in
the tank indicating system, select the quantity (0%, 25%, 50%, 100%) and adjust
the actual % value to match the current actual % for a known number of calculated
gallons. For example, if the calculated gallons equals 60 and that truly represents
50% of the tank size in gallons (120 gallon tank), the tank level sensor might show
70% or any other number other than 50% current actual. Select the 50% actual
field and press the left or right arrow on the arrow trackpad until the actual reads
the same as current actual, now the tank level indicator will indicate 50% when
the calculated gallons equals 60 gallons.
NOTE: To assist in manually calibrating the tanks, reference tables have been provided in
Section 8 - Calibration Logs
