The cable shielding must be connected over a wide area with the shield cover of the
plug. An additional connection of the shield and the ground is not necessary.
Cable length
A 100 Mbit/s Ethernet transmission is specified up to a maximum of 50 m (guaran-
teed) according to IEEE 802.3. The maximum possible transmission distance can be
shorter in an EMC-interfered industrial environment.
Minimum bend radius
During the installation: 60 mm.
For installed cable: 50 mm.

5.1.7
USB
The USB-interfaces are used to connect different media (e.g. for maintenance work).
They are, however, not suited for unmonitored continuous operation as the connec-
tion plug does not have a strain relief.
Information
The use of USB-enabled devices from the computer world may result in un-
expected system behavior or system failures, as these devices are not nor-
mally designed for operation in an environment with industrial interference.
Cable type
Shielded USB cable, twisted pair data cables with a surge impedance of 90 Ω ±15 %.
Plug type
Standard USB connector with fully conductive shell.
The cable shielding must be connected over a wide area with the shield cover of the
plug. An additional connection between the shield and the ground is not necessary.
Cable length
Max. 5 m.
