Assembly and removal
Caution
Improper handling can damage the modules, option modules and the con-
trol system.
•
Switch off the operating and load power supplies before carrying out assembly,
installation or maintenance work.
Caution
Damage to components!
Handle all modules and components with care. Please ensure the follow-
ing:
•
Clean contact surfaces (to avoid contact faults).
•
Bus plugs are not bent.
•
Ensure that no pieces of wire, filings or metal shavings fall into the unit
when you are drilling holes or connecting wires.

minimum distances can be found in the corresponding operation manual.
4.1
Space requirement
For information about space requirements, see the respective operation manual.
4.2
Air conditioning, ventilation
CAUTION!
•
All components must only be operated in the specified environments.
•
With the utilization of inputs for thermocouples, it must be ensured dur-
ing the configuration in the control cabinet that the area is not subject
to any temperature fluctuations.
To determine the total power required for the cabinet, please refer to the module
power consumption specifications in the operation manuals.
Detailed information concerning air conditioning and ventilation can be found in the
corresponding operation manual.
4.3
Use of air filters
Information
The control must be installed in an appropriate housing to guarantee that
no degree of soiling greater than 2 arises.
It is recommended to install the control modules in a dustproof, closed control cabi-
net. The ventilation holes of the control cabinet must be equipped with air filters. The
filter elements must be cleaned or replaced regularly.
