1. Select the appropriate cuff type for the patient.
According to the AHA (American Heart Association) guideline, the appropriate
cuff width is 40% of the arm circumference.
Reference
For details of the cuffs that can be used, refer to "10. Accessories/
Optional Accessories/Non-Invasive Blood Pressure Measurement".
CAUTION
Select the appropriate cuff size which best fits the arm
circumference. If the cuff size is inappropriate, it may cause
measurement error.
Do not use a cuff which is worn out. The cuff may burst during
inflation.
2. Connect the cuff to the air hose.
3. Connect the air hose to the NIBP cuff connector on the DSL-8001.
Connect the neonate cuff to the neonate air hose. Connect all other cuffs to the
general air hose. The monitor automatically detects if a neonate or adult/child air
hose is connected. If there is no air hose connected to the NIBP cuff connector,
measurement will not start.
CAUTION
Check that the cuff hose is connected correctly, and that there is
no looseness in the connection section. If there is any air
leakage, correct NIBP measurement cannot be performed.
