5. Install the shift gate temporarily and shift

the gear lever into

low

gear. The gear

lever should not be making any contact

with the gate plate. There should be a

least a 3/8” clearance between lever and

gate.

4. Remove the shift gate on the shift box and

check to make sure that the shift blocks

are aligned with the shift yoke assembly

when in the neutral position.

You may need to rotate the clutch to allow the shifting mechanism within the transmission

to permit the lever to move.

The following adjustment requires the shift box to be unfastened from the vehicle. Undo the

shifter box assembly on the drivers left hand side. This is secured with 3 bolts. 2 bolts are

fastened to the upper frame by 2 8mm inserts. The other is secured to the dash with a bolt,

locknut, and a flat washer on each side of the bolt.

This will allow access

from below to the shifting yokes, cotter pins and clevis pins, which have to be removed in

order to thread the yokes either way for adjustment. Any fine tuning of the adjustments can

be made when the shift box has been remounted, at the cable where it enters the shift box

assembly.
