ST-6(A)

1. Remove the outside retaining ring on the steering shaft at the steering column.

On vehicles manufactured from S/N 0301191:

Disassembling the Steering Column

2. Slip the washer and O-ring from the steering shaft.

3. Pull the steering shaft from the columns welded steering tube.

4. There are 2 oilite bushings press fit to each end of the steering tube. Remove and replace if necessary.

Assembling the Steering Column

1. Press fit an oilite bushing into each end of the steering tube at the steering column.

2. Install the steering shaft assembly through the tube of the steering column.

5. Continue from step 17 through 19 on page ST-8 for further disassembly of master cylinder, throttle/

brake support brackets and gas pedal if necessary.
