Removing The Fuel Pump (Gas Models)
1. The electrical fuel pump on the gas powered CENTAUR is located and mounted in
same location as the diesel powered CENTAUR’S fuel filter system. To remove or
service the pump you will need to disconnect and remove the battery to provide a satis -
factory working area. Disconnect the fuel inlet and outlet to the pump and remove the
hardware securing it to the upper cross frame assembly. Unplug the wire and remove
from the vehicle.
Installing The Electric Fuel Pump(
Gas Model
)
1. When installing the electric fuel pump to the CENTAUR, observe the IN and OUT
markings at the pump and connect the fuel line accordingly. Be sure all fuel line con -
nections are secure and that the wiring has been re-plugged to the electrical system.
Changing The Fuel Filter
(Gas Models)
1. Refer to page EN-13 of this service manual for the location of the fuel filter as well as
the recommended time intervals for changing it.
To replace fuel filter element:
1. Disconnect sensor wire. Remove drain plug and discard O-ring.
2. Remove fuel filter with filter wrench.
3. Screw new filter on by hand until gasket contacts housing. Then tighten 1/3 turn
more.
4. Install drain plug with new O-ring. Connect sensor wire.
5. Bleed air from fuel line. Start engine and check for leaks.
