Centaur Service Manual

Maintenance Information

- Clean every 100 operating hours.

1. Perform the servicing procedure,

Drive Chain Removal

on Page WA- 7 until all of

the drive chains have been removed.

2. Clean all drive chains by soaking in a strong solvent bath such as varsol. This will

remove all chain lube, dirt and accumulated grease.

Never use gasoline as a cleaning solvent. Gasoline is extremely flammable and can

explode if ignited, causing serious personal injury or death.

3. Allow the chains to dry.

4. Perform the servicing procedure,

Chain Tensioner Inspection

1. The chain tensioner consists of a slider block bolted to a frame bracket. The tension

ing assembly takes up the slack on the bottom side of the rear four chains and the top

side of the front four.

2. Inspect the nylon slider blocks each time the chain tension is adjusted. When the wear

groove measures 1/4” (6mm) deep, the block can been turned over to use the other

side. When both sides are worn out, replace with a new block.

*Vehicles produced from S/N 0112076 will utiilize a quick adjust chain tensioner system.
