7. Lower the vehicle to the ground and put it into gear.

8. Remove the 4 hex head fasteners and lock washers that attach the brake disc to the

hub.

9. Remove the disc and perform the procedure,

10. To remove the brake disc hub, remove the retaining ring that anchors it to the splined

shaft on the transmission. If the hub does not easily pull from the spline, a gear puller

may be required.

Brake Disc/Hub Installation

1. Apply some anti-seize compound to the spline shaft of the brake disc hub and install the

hub (if it was removed). Secure it with the retaining ring making sure it has properly

seated to the machined groove.

BR-21

New retaining rings should always replace

the ones removed to avoid the possibility

of reusing any that were bent or deformed

during disassembly.
