CS-8

This cap is under spring tension and will fly apart if precautions are not taken to hold

it down while the screws are removed. Be sure to always wear eye protection when

servicing the clutches, or any other vehicle component for that matter, with the potential

of flying parts.

7. Pull the spring from the sliding pulley.

N.A Diesel spring code is V10-

48-103-18. The spring is blue with orange and violet lines painted on. The Gasoline &

Turbo Diesel spring code is V10-57-077-22. The spring is violet, no lines paint on.

10. Perform the servicing procedure,

Driver Clutch Inspection

on page CS- 5 and

replace parts as necessary.

8. Remove the spring guide washer.

9. Clean clutch components in a varsol bath solution to clean any dirt, oil or belt “dust”

from the parts. Spray all components with a de-greaser type product, and use a lint

free cloth or compressed air to dry the parts before reassembly.
