EX-4

Removing The Muffler and Exhaust System

Components

1. Rermove the 2 fasteners that secure the muffler

shield at the front of the muffler.

Photo EX-1

2. Remove the 2 bolts, 4 flat washers and 2 locknuts

that fasten the shield, as well as the muffler, to the

brackets welded at the ROP. Remove the exhaust

shield.

3. Loosen the muffler clamp at the muffler and exhaust

pipe, and remove the muffler.

4. To remove the short straight exhaust

pipe disconnect the 2 exhaust connecting

springs.

5. To replace the exhaust section that con-

nects to the engine, remove the 4 lock-

nuts at the engine manifold. Discard the

old gasket.

Never reuse old exhaust gaskets. Always

replace with new ones to ensure a leak free

exhaust system.
