11. Remove the 4 bolts, flat washers and locknuts that fasten the front fuel tank bracket

assembly to the left and right hand side seat supports.

Photo FS-10

You may leave the lower part of the front bracket connected at the floor but it is a good idea

to loosen each of the bolts off.

12. Loosen the gear clamp at the filler hose

neck of the gas tank so that when the tank

is pulled free from the vehicle, it can be

disconnected.

13. Pull the fuel tank bracket assembly for

ward while lifting the tank up and free

of the vehicle.

14. Remove the fuel tank swing arm. This

is the float system for the fuel gauge.

Remove the 5 M5 bolts that are threaded

into the top of the tank. Pull the swing

arm up and free of the tank. Discard the

gasket.

and return tube (Diesel Model)
