1. Remove the floor pans.
2. Loosen the 16mm tensioner bolt and re -
move.
3. Remove the washer and slider block from
the bolt as illustrated to right.
4. Remove the bushing from within the
slider block.

5. Install the bushing in the new slider and
mount the assembly on the bolt.
6. Re-install onto the frame bracket and
tension the chains as detailed on page
WA-8
7. Replace the floor pans.
8. On models manufactured from S/N
0112076, remove the cotter pin and flat
washer securing the slider block to the
chain adjuster spindle, and slide it from
the shaft .

To Replace a Slider Block
QuickAdjust Chain Tensioners
On Centaur Models produced after mid December of 2001 from S/N 0112076, the chain
tensioner system has been changed to a “quick adjust style”. This allows for ease of adjustment
to the chains by employing the use of a socket and wrench to the jam nuts threaded to the
top of a tensioner rod. The front four chains still require the tensioner blocks to move
downward to tension the chains, while the rear four require the tensioner blocks to move
upward to accomplish the same. When the tenioners have been assembled and slipped into
the welded guides of the lower frame assembly and the chains have been installed to the
sprockets, this means that the front four chains will require the jam nuts to be turned in a
counter-clockwise position to tension the chains. On the other hand, the rear four chains
will become tensioned when the jam nuts are turned clockwise.
