9-80  Upgrading Your Server 

13. 

Insert the device carrier into the backup device bay halfway. 

 

14. 

Connect the power cable to the backplane. 

NOTE:

 Confirm where to place the terminator at the end of the SCSI cable. The terminator must 

be placed in the device bay. At this time, also confirm that the SCSI cable is not in contact with the 
latching tab of the device carrier. This is to prevent the cable from being damaged. 

15. 

Insert the device carrier into the device bay until it locks. 

It is locked when a "click" is heard. 

NOTE:

 Be careful not to catch the connected power cable in inserting the device carrier. 

 

16. 

Install the optional SCSI controller to the PCI riser card. 

17. 

Connect the SCSI cable to the SCSI connector on the SCSI controller. 

18. 

Reinstall the PCI riser card to the chassis. 

19. 

Install the components you removed previously. 

20. 

Configure the SCSI device and install the device driver. 

Refer to the manual that comes with the device.
