7.7.4.  Workspaces and File Settings 

When a data file is closed, the last settings used to process and display the file are saved. This 
does not change the raw data in any way, but instead the settings are saved to a separate .cfg file. 
These settings are referred to collectively as the 

workspace

. 

The next time the file is loaded, it will be opened with the same settings as the last time it was 
viewed. This is also applicable for operations such as Batch Data File Export and Discharge 
Summary Report. 

7.8. 

Discharge Measurement Summary 

The Discharge Measurement Summary is a formatted report-style summary of a series of dis-
charge measurements selected by the user. The Discharge Measurement Summary is designed to 
provide a report on these measurements in a format specific to each organization. Data can be 
processed in the Summary report both in the field and in the office. The associated dialog box 
(

Figure 7-38

) can be displayed by selecting 

File|Export|Discharge Report (Ctrl+T)

. 

A number of templates for the Summary are available and are included with the 

RiverSurveyor

 

program. These templates are only suggested examples and may be modified by the user. The 
templates are in HTML format and can be edited with any HTML editor. The default template 
(

Summary-Standard.htm

) contains the typical fields used in a measurement report.
