Track Data
The tabular data shown in the
Track Data
) relates
to information collected when bottom-track (§
) is available. To display this information, use
View|Display
Data|Show Track Data
.
•
Track Reference
– Shows reference source for the displayed
data – either
Bottom-Track
or
DGPS
.
•
Boat Speed
– Shows the speed of the vessel over ground
when the last profile was processed. Note: If track data is
bad, this value will appear in
red
, and the value displayed
will be the last valid value collected.
•
Boat Dir
– Shows the direction of the vessel when the last
profile was processed. If the
Track Reference
is
Bottom-
Track
, direction is determined from the ADP’s internal com-
pass; depending on ADP alignment, this reading may not
agree with the vessel’s gyrocompass. Note: If track data is bad, this value will appear in
red
, and the value displayed will be the last valid value collected.
•
Water Speed
– Shows the depth-averaged water flow speed for this data set through the last-
completed profile.
•
Water Dir
– Shows the depth-averaged water flow direction through the last-completed pro-
file.
•
B speed/W speed
– Shows the ratio of boat speed to water speed.
•
Track
– Shows the accumulated total distance the vessel has traveled through the last-
completed profile for this data set.
•
– Shows the accumulated
distance made good
(i.e., the straight-line distance; §
)
from the point of origin (0,0 coordinates) to the location of the last-completed profile for
this data set.
•
# of Valid Cells
– Shows the number of cells that contained valid data when the last profile
was processed. Example: If ADP parameters are set to allow data collection in 30 cells, but
the actual bottom is 20 cells away from the ADP, and if you have chosen to discard the last
3 cells of data (via
Processing|Velocity Profile Extrapolation|Discard Data
), then this value
will read 17 (i.e., 20 cells from ADP to bottom minus the 3 discarded cells = 20 – 3 = 17).
•
Calc. Depth
– Shows the average depth of the three beams.
•
Beam Depth 1/2/3
– Shows the individual depth readings for each beam for the last-
completed profile. Note: If bottom-track data is bad, these values will appear in
red
, and the
values displayed will be the last valid values collected by the ADP.
•
ES Depth
– Shows the depth of the water as reported by the echo sounder.
