2 Preparing and operating the CM-30S

When tightening system fittings, consult the following table.

Installation recommendations for ACQUITY APC and UPC

column-compartment fittings:

Fitting

Recommended tightening

First use

Stainless steel (gold-plated) fitting with

long flats and 2-piece stainless steel

ferrule on hypo-extended tubing

1. Using your fingers, screw

the gold fitting into the

port and stop as soon as

you begin to feel

resistance (nut is touching

ferrule).

2. Using a 1/4-inch open-end

wrench, tighten until you

begin to feel an increase in

resistance.

3. Using the wrench, tighten

an additional 1/2-turn.
