12. Close the column-compartment drawer, and push downward on the
handle, to secure the latch.
13. Close the outer door of the CM-30S.
Replacing the ferrule on the column fitting
Replace the ferrule on the column fitting if the column is leaking.
Warning:
To prevent burn injuries, set the column temperature to Off,
and then allow the column compartment and its components to cool for
60 minutes before touching them. Monitor the column compartment’s
internal temperature to ensure all components are cool.
Warning:
To prevent injury, always observe Good Laboratory Practice
when replacing the ferrule on the column fitting. Know the physical and
chemical properties of the solvents used (see the Material Safety Data
Sheets for the solvents in use).
Notice:
To prevent contaminating system components, wear clean,
chemical-resistant, powder-free gloves when replacing the ferrule on the
column fitting.
