PL
text box
The PL box shows the number of the party line for which you want to
view.
Alpha
drop-down list
The Alpha drop-down list shows the alpha name assigned to the party
line.
1. From the Alpha drop-down list, select the Alpha for
which you want to work.
Port column
display
The Port column displays the port available to assign to the party line.
Alpha column
display
The Alpha column displays the alpha name of the port available to assign
to the party line selected.
P-T column
display
The P-T column displays the ports that are assigned as permanent
talkers. This means that the port can only send out signals and not
receive. The permanent talker assignment is only used with devices that
cannot instruct the intercom system on how to route the audio.
Yes indicates the given port transmits audio to the currently viewed party-
line system.
No indicates the given port does not transmit audio to the currently viewed
party line system.
P-L column
display
The P-L column displays the Permanent Listener status for each port in
the system. This means that the port can only receive audio signals.
Yes indicates the given port receives audio from the currently viewed
party line.
No indicates the given port does not receive audio from the currently
viewed party line.
Key? Column
display
The Key? Column displays when an intercom keypanel is talking or
listening to the party line using intercom keys. This column is refreshed
(updated with current information) frequently during normal operation.
Note
: To force a refresh, either select
Refresh
from the
View
menu; or press
Ctrl+Space
.
Talk: The port has a talk key pressed to talk to the party line.
Listen: The port has a listen key pressed to listen to the party line.
Both: The port has both a talk and listen key pressed for 2-way
communication with the party line.
PL Talker
button
Use the PL Talker button to designate selected ports as permanent
talkers for the currently viewed PL assignment. Party Line Talker
assignments are only used with devices that cannot instruct the intercom
system on how to route the audio. This option is usually not used with
keypanels.
1. Click PL Talker to make the selected port(s) permanent talkers
(P-T) for the currently viewed PL assignment.
PL Listener
button
Use the PL Listener button to designate selected ports as permanent
listeners for the currently viewed PL assignment. Party Line Listener
assignments are only used with devices that cannot instruct the intercom
system on how to route the audio. This option is usually not used with
keypanels.
1. Click PL Listener to make the selected port(s) permanent
listeners (P-L) for the currently viewed PL assignment.
NOT PL Talker
button
Use the NOT PL Talker button to deselect a port or ports as permanent
talkers for the currently viewed PL assignment.
